Previous trainees can request letters of recommendations for graduate programs, jobs, etc. Dr. Wright is happy to support trainees in their new professional ventures if they are able to meet the requirements outlined below.
Requirements for requesting a letter of recommendation:
- Requester and Dr. Wright established and sustained a mentorship/supervisor relationship that lasted for at least two quarters (20 weeks)
- Requester met or exceeded expectations in their role
- Request is submitted at least 2 months in advance of letter deadline
- Requested can provide all information on the LOR Request Form hosted on Qualtrics
LOR Request Form
Writing a strong LOR can be quite time consuming! To maximize efficiency, I will ask you to submit information in the LOR request form.

- Information that you will be asked to provide on the Qualtrics form is:
- First/Last Name
- Role with Dr. Wright (e.g., undergrad RA, practicum supervisee)
- Length of relationship: Month/Year-Month/Year
- What you plan to apply to
- If applying to multiple programs, you must list all program names and the LOR due date and how the LOR should be submitted (e.g., online portal, via email).
- Why you are applying
- Your career goals
- How the lab helped you realize your career goals/desire to apply to the program
- CV/Resume
- Supplemental Materials:
- If you completed an independent research project or projects under my mentorship, please share pdfs of the poster/presentation slides/written papers.
- If you are applying to a graduate program
- you must provide at least one example of what the LOR should discuss
- you must provide a draft of your personal statement
- If you are applying to a grant
- You must provide a draft of your background & specific aims/research questions
