Interests/Why did you join this lab? Being a Mexican first-generation college student, this lab aligned well with my interests in helping out the Latinx communities in the area and it was one of the main reasons why I joined this lab. Being able to know that we are actively creating change and awareness here in Eugene is the most rewarding feeling.
Favorite part about living in Eugene or Oregon? My favorite part about living in Eugene has been the spring weather after months of rain. Spring term is my favorite as everyone comes together during springtime whether that be to go outside or go to the lake.

Expected Graduation Year: 2026
Interests/Why did you join this lab? I joined this lab because I am very interested in creating culturally competent care for our communities. Navigating cultural stigmas, generational trauma, and socioeconomic issues can be very difficult to handle all at once, especially when there is a lack of resources. I believe it is very important for there to be access to mental health resources that are catered towards specific hardships we face, are affordable, and equitable.
Favorite part about living in Eugene or Oregon? Eugene is surrounded by beautiful scenery. I love going on hikes and exploring outside. My favorite places to go are the Oregon Coast and the Mckenzie River!
What is one activity you are involved in professionally or for fun? I am an Intern with Oregon Department of Human Services, working in child permanency. I also work as an Educational Assistant with a local school district in our area.
